So. Here we are again. (Includes 2012 nonsense)

Now, I've been trying to avoid reading things about this date. Dec. 21st, 2012. I believed that, if I could avoid hearing anything about the date, it would cease to exist, and no one would have to worry about it at all.

Well, that plan backfired. It pops up everywhere, the 2012 prophecy that the world is going to end. Forgive me for bringing the topic up, but I just find it so unlikely. The end of the world has been predicted, oh, how many times now? I think even the historians have lost count. And has it happened yet? NO.

So why is 2012 such a significant year? Because a few people predicted it, and the scientists are out of their minds with thinking about a planet that probably doesn't exist? It's utter nonsense.

We humans are ignorant. We always think that we know everything there is to know about the world, and we think we can predict what our futures will be, and how our world is going to end. Sure, we've made some prophecies that came true, but really, no one needs a fortune-teller to tell us that a war is starting, or that people will die, or or or. The bottom line is that NO ONE knows for sure what the fate of this planet is, not even scientists, for they have been wrong in the past, and probably will be wrong in the future.

I am curious to see how many people are going to panic on Dec. 20th, 2012, thinking that it's their last day on earth. For all we know, it could be. It's just highly unlikely that it isn't going to be. They feed us this kind of thing to scare us, when in reality, they just want money. By "they", I mean the government, and the scientists, and the doomsdayers, and everyone who has anything to do with this. The Mayan calendar ends because the people were wiped out, weren't they? So they had no one to continue their calendar. Modern human beings make calendars every new year, before the new year, even. So what's to say that the Mayan's calendar ending marks the end of life as we know it?

Have people noticed that a countless number of people's lives end EVERY DAY, and will continue until there's none of us left? It's not about some little details strewn together to create something more. NO ONE can predict the future. That's that.

Sorry about the rant x.x I had to get it out of my brain, because if I keep thinking about it, I'm going to turn into one of these people who worry and cry over 2012 when it comes. But, until then, we've still got all the crap happening now to worry about, and 2010, and 2011.

"Why do we have to listen to that sectarian turmoil? It's not like we have Buddhists playing bagpipes in the bathroom or Hindu's harmonizing in the hall. The Shinto's don't come here shattering sheetglass in the shithouse while shouting slogans..." -MPFC
